Anti-scam policy
Fake job adverts are the biggest danger in looking for work in Bangladesh. This is what we do about it, and what to watch for.
One rule matters most
- If anyone asks you for money for a job, it is a scam. There are no exceptions.
- “Refundable deposit”, “registration fee”, “medical fee”, “visa processing” — all the same thing under different names.
- Do not send money. Report it.
What we do
- Every posting is checked before it goes live. One that asks a candidate for money never publishes at all.
- A posting is only ever removed by a rule a person wrote, and the employer is told exactly which rule.
- Three different people reporting a posting takes it down immediately.
- Verifying a company takes a trade licence or an email address at the company’s own domain.
What to watch for
- Being asked for money or a deposit to apply.
- Being told to contact a personal mobile number or WhatsApp only.
- No description of the work, but very specific pay.
- Pay far above what similar work pays.
- Being asked for NID or passport photos before an interview.
If something has happened
- If you have already paid, report it as soon as you can and tell your local police station.
- You can report from any job page in the app. No account needed.
