Anti-scam policy

Last updated 30 August 2026 · version 2026-08-v1

Fake job adverts are the biggest danger in looking for work in Bangladesh. This is what we do about it, and what to watch for.

One rule matters most

  • If anyone asks you for money for a job, it is a scam. There are no exceptions.
  • “Refundable deposit”, “registration fee”, “medical fee”, “visa processing” — all the same thing under different names.
  • Do not send money. Report it.

What we do

  • Every posting is checked before it goes live. One that asks a candidate for money never publishes at all.
  • A posting is only ever removed by a rule a person wrote, and the employer is told exactly which rule.
  • Three different people reporting a posting takes it down immediately.
  • Verifying a company takes a trade licence or an email address at the company’s own domain.

What to watch for

  • Being asked for money or a deposit to apply.
  • Being told to contact a personal mobile number or WhatsApp only.
  • No description of the work, but very specific pay.
  • Pay far above what similar work pays.
  • Being asked for NID or passport photos before an interview.

If something has happened

  • If you have already paid, report it as soon as you can and tell your local police station.
  • You can report from any job page in the app. No account needed.
